Description

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Support the product org with product metrics reporting
  • Support product org with insights and suggestions on feature usage
  • Support product managers with reporting requirements and performance measurement of new products & features
  • Define, track, and report on product success measurement criteria

 

KPIs FOR THIS ROLE

  • Create product usage reporting requirements
  • Document reporting gaps and work with necessary teams to find solutions
  • Maintain product & feature KPIs and Dashboards

 

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide business requirements and collaborate with internal teams on data capture strategy that will support accurate reporting and insights on sales pattern and consumer behavior
  • Evaluating analytics processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions
  • Perform ad-hoc and in-depth analyses
  • Drive initiatives to improve reporting capabilities
  • Explore new data sources to add signals to existing reporting
  • Create reports and self-service dashboards to provide ongoing insight to business stakeholders, support product leadership in making effective, analytically driven, and strategic decisions
  • Provide scientific driven insights to executive leadership through weekly and monthly reporting

 

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

  • Proficiency in SQL (e.g. Joins, sub-queries, window functions, CTE, LAG)
  • Experience in Python/R
  • Forecasting and Modeling: Sheets, Excel, etc.
  • Ability to design testable hypotheses
  • Working knowledge of analytical and data visualization tools (Python, R, and/or Tableau) if are using any BI tools

 

NON-TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to propose complex solutions and explanations in writing
  • Ability to break down business requirements into engineering and data requirements
  • Ability to transform complex reporting into concise digestible reports and insights
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strong verbal and presentation/communication skills; be able to build a narrative around what you see in the data and translate to the non-technical stakeholders

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficiency in querying and manipulating complex raw datasets for analysis. SQL skills required, experience with Python/R, ETL a bonus
  • 5+ years of advanced proficiency in Excel (including Pivot Tables, array functions, Power Pivots, etc)
  • Knowledge of Git version control (Github, Bitbucket)
  • Experience with designing scientifically accurate research and performing statistical analysis on large data sets
  • BS/MS Degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Finance and other quantitative areas
  • 5+ years’ experience in sales/business reporting/analytics
  • Effective at working independently and as a member of a cross functional team
  • Experience explaining technical concepts and analysis implications clearly to varied audiences and be able to translate business objectives into actionable analyses
